The good news has come in and Sammy is going back to work! I will be joining the Nintendo family on Monday and will get to see what's inside all of those fun gadgets that everybody plays with. I'm very excited about being part of a company that I grew up with as a kid and one that continues to put out such amazing products.
Seattle was blanketed with another snow storm last night, not nearly as bad as the crippling storm we had back in December, but it still made a mess out of traffic. I'm hoping that the roads will be in good enough shape for the buses to stay en route tonight when I have to make my way downtown for class.
Also, a late congratulations to the Kansas Jayhawks who defeated Oklahoma and are now leading the Big 12 in basketball. Rock Chalk!

Congratulations to Slumdog Millionaire for winning 8 Oscars at the Academy Awards! And congratulations to all the other winners of the evening. I wish I had seen more of the movies that were up for awards this last year but unfortunately going to the theater is not a very affordable activity.
Tonight will be a very big night as the Kansas Jayhawks will be playing the Oklahoma Sooners in a battle for the top rank in the Big 12. March Madness is just around the corner and I am becoming ever more eager for its arrival.
In honor of Slumdog's success I have put up a very special tune and music video from the classic Bollywood film Khal Nayak and stay tuned to SammyApplegate.com for the possibility of some very good news!

Happy President's Day everybody! I hope you are all enjoying the lack of banks, mail and parking enforcement. I am embarking on yet another week of job searching and music theory studying. I don't actually have class this week, but I might be able to sit in on a live film score recording session. I won't know until Wednesday if that is a go or not, but it's certainly an exciting thought.
As usual, there is a new tune and music video up for you to partake in... so start partaking!

Ah yes, another week is upon us. My days seem to be melding together and it can be difficult at times to remember what day of the week it actually is. That's what happens when everyday is a weekend, I suppose.
It's hard to believe that over a month ago I was part of a family and now I'm a statistic competing with thousands upon thousands of other statistics for a chance at survival. It almost sounds like a reality TV show on FOX, which kind of makes the situation even more depressing, if you think about it. Still, I haven't given up, I am continuing to scour the city for opportunities and have not yet reached the point where selling my organs sounds like a good idea.
I do have a new tune and a new music video up for you all. Now I'm off to prepare myself for tonight's KU game. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Hello all! It's February and I hope that you have all survived the Super Bowl and Groundhog's Day, I know I did. I have to say that this year's Big Game was much more entertaining to watch than last year's, even though it was not the outcome I had hoped for. Luckily my spirits were lifted last night as the Kansas Jayhawks defeated the Baylor Bears making them 7-0 in Big 12 play. Not too shabby for a team that lost all of its starters from last season's National Champions. Keep it up, boys!
I have a new tune up this week and I've posted a very special music video that will hopefully give you the same warm and fuzzy feeling of nostalgia that it gives me. Enjoy!
